Welcome to Great Oaks Small School -The Small School with a Big Heart.
My name is Julie Kelly and I’d like to extend my very warmest welcome to you and your family. In 2022, Ofsted awarded Great Oaks ‘Outstanding’ for Personal Development. Your child’s dignity is our absolute priority, and they will never receive less than the highest levels of kindness, consideration, and respect from our long-established staff team, which consists of full-time therapists and fully qualified subject teachers in every single core curriculum area. We will take your child from entry-level to GCSE, then to ‘A’ Level and beyond. But crucially, we will ensure their journey is happy and safe.
We understand that choosing an Independent school is a critical decision in a young person’s life; many of our students come from mainstream settings where they have faced enormous challenges. We offer a small, therapeutic environment based over two unique and beautiful locations.
Years 7-11 (aged 11-16) are educated in a 300-year-old farmhouse situated at the edge of the Minster Marshes. The farmhouse garden is a haven for wildlife, including hawks, lizards and barn owls, and serves as a playground and outdoor learning space for our students, with areas for vegetable growing and a Forest School. Our sixth formers, Years 12-14 (aged 16-19) attend a state-of-the-art bespoke educational wing, based at Discovery Park, just a few minutes’ drive from our lower school. Both sites are uniquely twinned, and students will attend both campuses for performances, prize-givings, and our many other extra-curricular events.
Please do not hesitate to contact Great Oaks any time. Our door is always open, and we take pride in the speed with which we will arrange a visit for you and your child. We will ensure all your questions are answered as well as give you a full tour of our school, and above all a warm farmhouse welcome!
My Sincerest Regards,
