Healthy and Nutritious Cookery at Great Oaks School

At Great Oaks, we promote healthy eating and are proud of our ethos for the students to learn to cook from scratch. By teaching the students to cook for themselves by identifying and selecting fresh ingredients, they will take this skill with them throughout their lives. The aim is to teach healthy eating and cookery over processed and convenience foods. We use the NHS Eat Well Guide in lessons to identify different food groups and encourage discussions around a balanced diet by referring to the guide below.
