Great Oaks Small School offers a range of different courses
At Great Oaks we pride ourselves on the range of courses. We offer our students a tailor made range of courses across a wide ability range. Should a student wish to undertake a different subject we will endeavor to facilitate that, subject to availability. Sometimes courses come and courses go. A good example of this was a few years ago when we were able to offer one student a GCSE Astronomy course. Unfortunately, in this case the GCSE is no longer available.

We also offer Entry Level and Functional Skills courses in English, Mathematics and Science and a range of units across all levels on the AQA Unit Award Scheme. This includes a wide range of Cookery courses and units in specifically catered to students' own interests.
FURTHER DESTINATIONS FOR OUR STUDENTS
Many of our students have moved on to higher education and been offered degrees in a range of subjects. Among these have been degrees in Art & Design, Business & Marketing, Digital Design, Fashion Design, History & Politics, Law, Photography, Social Work, Sports Science and Youth Studies.
Others have moved to apprenticeships and training in Animal Care, Beauty Therapy, Catering, Creative Design, Engineering, Forestry, Games Animation & Virtual Effects Production, Health & Social Care, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Music Practitioner Business Diploma, Outdoor Learning and Railway Track Maintenance,
Other students have gone onto courses in independent living.
INFORMATION FOR EXAM CANDIDATES:
For every exam that you do the exam awarding bodies have to collect and hold information about you. When you are entered for an exam, your teacher or exams officer will be able to tell you what examining board you are doing the exam with.

- What happens to information about you
- What your rights are in relation to the awarding bodies
- How long the information about you is held

EXAM STRESS:
When people go into exams they usually feel they are under some sort of pressure. Remember there are lots of different ways to cope with this and that the advice in the links below all comes from people who have been there before.
